Examination Hall,
A. B. C. (City).
February 22, 2014.

My dear Friend,

I hope that this letter of mine will find you in the best of your health and spirits. I just had your letter. My eyes became dim and heart began to palpitate when I read the nerve-racking news of the sad and untimely demise of your mother. May her soul rest in peace! It is really a mournful and melancholic mischance. I know my words of Consolation at the time of so great bereavement would be vain and worthless. Nothing can equal the motherly love. The Holy grace of motherly affection is singularly soothing and comforting in its nature. Nothing can Substitute this heavenly gift.

This is really an irreparable loss for all of us. Your family has been deprived of one of the most precious jewels. Your mother was a leading lady. She did great charities in the neighborhood. She was lavishly generous in helping the penniless indigents. She cooperated with the poor families so secretly that even her left hand did not come to know of it. He treated women with honor and Courtesy. A number of poor widows depended upon her. She would often arrange the dowry for the poor girls. She would not bear the sight of a weeping and wailing child, Her affable approach and benevolent behavior had made her very popular with women and children. She would regularly subscribe to the cause of Islam. Súrely, your father has lost a loyal and loving partner.

To me she was very kind. I always sought her guidance whenever I was in difficulty. Her death, therefore, is a personal loss for me. Your loss is certainly a thousand times more than mine. But I do opine that you should not take her death to heart. I realize what your feelings are and I know that it will take some time to overcome grief. But one thought at least comfort you that at her death-bed, she had the satisfaction of seeing her son following her footsteps. She was such a religious and pious lady that nothing else could have worried her in the presence of death.

Dear friend, you know this is a world of transience. Everything including man is mortal in this world. Everyone who is created is to perish sooner or later. Death is the ultimate and absolute reality. It is a stage in the life of a man wherein he is totally helpless before the decree of fate. Man is weedy and vulnerable. He is feeble, frail and fragile. But what a paradox, death makes a man eternal. He dies to relish the bliss of perpetual life. He bears the pangs of death to enjoy the pleasure of paradise. His hearty desire to meet the Lord is fulfilled. His Virtuous soul flies far beyond the lofty clouds to somewhere among the constellation Of stars to enjoy the perpetual divine bliss. As Shakespeare has said,
"Death lies on her, like an untimely frost the field
Upon the sweetest flower of all the field"
My fellow, I pray that Allah Almighty may assuage the anguish of your sad soul. He may bless you with the patience of Job! You should console yourself with the cherished memory of the lived and the lost. Be brave and bear this bereavement with Courage and fortitude. Your father has been deprived of a good companion. Your younger brother has lost Such a kind mother at So tender age. You are the elder brother at home. You should console your family with your words and behavior. We must endure what we cannot cure.

Please accept my condolences at this moment of grief and convey my heartiest sympathies to the entire family. I wish that I might do more for you than assure you of my tenderest love. I will be with you in a day or two. I finish my letter with the words,
"May Allah the Almighty bless the departed soul with eternal blessings and grant you the strength and fortitude to bear this irresparable loss with equanimity"
With deepest Sympathies
Yours sincerely,
X.Y.Z
