Co-education - Blessing or Curse Essay free Download
The first advantage of co-education is that it removes the need of separate institutions. A poor Country like Pakistan cannot afford to have a large number of institutions. It can be a big economic burden because separate buildings. teaching staff and clerical staff would double the expenditure. So it gains a strong favour here.

Another important advantage of Co-education is that it enables the two sexes to come into contact with each other and understand each other in a free atmosphere. They jointly perform all the educational and extra-Curricular activities. In this way, they enjoy real opportunities to Know and understand One another. So, lot of psychological problems automatically disappear. Besides, it promotes respect among both the sexes. In this way, they are better able to share the responsibilities in future.

Co-education also provides chances to observe habits, hobbies and thinking of the opposite Sex. Knowledge of each other's psychology and temperament leads to better understanding in future. This understanding later on may contribute to a happy married life.

Studying together refines the character, habits and general behaviour of the boys. If left alone their mode of talking is a bit indecent. However, in the presence of girls, the boys take every care of their. Conversation, behaviour, dress and social manners. So this kind of nicety, politeness and refnement is achieved through co-education.

Another good effect of co-education is that it creates a healthy spirit of academic competition. Each sex tries to excel the other. As a result the students a sometimes show unimaginably better performance and progress in their education. Co-education has some drawbacks that cannot be overlooked in any way.

First disadvantage is that boys find it difficult to concentrate upon studies in the presence of girls. The attraction of opposite sex disturbs their attention. It results in their bad performance. Islam prohibits free mixing of young boys and young girls particularly at this age because it may lead them to the path of ruin. So it is not advisable to provide them such platform in the educational system at govt. level.

The demands of the two sexes are different from each other. The same subjects Canihot be taught to both the Sexes at the same time and at the same place. Although few subjects are common but on the whole girls have their own fields of interests and activities. So, in this regard Co-education becomes useless.

Conclusion: We can conclude that in Pakistan, CO-education can be successfully adopted at figher education level but it is not so desirable at school and college level. Perhaps the situation can change in future.
